Best beauty discoveries of 2014

2014 has been a huge year for trying new products and finding some gems. Here are the best of the best!

Makeup // The Lipstick Queen's "Medieval"

Do not be fooled by the blood red shade of the bullet. This is my 'nude' lipstick - it's the colour of my lips, but rosier and prettier. Lisa Eldridge described it as if you've been eating berries, which sums it up charmingly. It is incredibly moisturising and stains the lips for a good few hours before you need to touch up.

Nails // Essie's "Mint Candy Apple"

Yes, this one again - I won't harp on anymore about it but to say that it has been my go-to colour all this year and I don't think I could ever be without it in my collection.

Skincare // La Roche-Posay's "Effaclar Duo"

Whilst I had previously favoured clay and salicylic acid mixtures, this trumps them as it is invisible upon application, meaning you can pop some on under your makeup for the day. If you have a spot, this will make it nearly disappear completely within the next 24 hours. It's some sort of magic.

Body // Soap and Glory "The Breakfast Scrub"

Thankfully, the skin on my body doesn't cause me too much grief, but I do get very itchy legs after shaving and need to exfoliate a lot to stop me scratching my skin. The Breakfast Scrub was just what I needed to do the job, and although it's basically just a sugar scrub, it has a mapley scent to die for.

Hair // Phyto 7 Hydrating Day Cream

This product got me into overnight products for my hair. Before I'd been a little reluctant as I was worried it would leave me feeling greasy. This sinks quickly into the ends and leaves them feeling soft, without being heavy.

I'm so pleased with my new favourites I've found in 2014 and am excited to see what 2015 has in store!
