Skincare Routine Extras - January 2015

I have a pretty standard skincare routine for both morning and evening but sometimes I want a bit of pampering, or there's an SOS situation, so I need some other hero products at the ready to sort things out. Let me introduce you to the products that I use more occasionally, but are always there to lend a hand when need be.

For pampering // I have a two masks I reach for depending on how my skin is feeling. If I've not been looking after myself as best I can and am feeling a bit gross, I go for the Sanctuary Deep Cleanse Facial 5 Minute Thermal Detox mask. It's a strange one that heats up on application (don't worry, it's supposed to do that - your face is not burning) but purifies the skin beautifully. Best yet is that it only needs five minutes to work, so you can do it if you're a bit tight for time. I like also to hydrate my skin regularly so once a week I use the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque. This bears a decent resemblance to the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, albeit without that delicious orangey scent, and moisturises the skin wonderfully. As it is clear and doesn't need to be taken off, I'd recommend it for use on the plane.

For SOS // My biggest concern for my skin is irritation, redness and soreness. My skin, both around my face and on my arms and legs, has been acting up of late thanks to the insane heat and an allergic reaction so I've been using as much aloe vera as I can get my hands on. I use Banana Boat but it's all much of a muchness, really. Likewise, my skin reacts poorly to waxing so I always need a little bottle of tea tree oil on hand to disinfect the area and to soothe.

What do you use to pamper and for SOS situations?
