A few Christmas traditions

As someone who is very festive year-round, Christmas is my most favourite time of the year. There are so many beautiful traditions that I adore - cosy decorations, old-time carols, the foods you eat one a year (why aren't mince pies perennial? Can we make a petition please) and spending time with loved ones.
I always want to make the absolute most of it all and I must say that this year I've certainly done my all to do just that. There's no such thing as Christmas overkill in my books.

My cupboards boast teas for every occasion, and they certainly don't disappoint for Christmas. My pick of the season is Taylors of Harrogate Spiced Christmas Leaf Tea - a beautiful black tea blended with citrus peels and cinnamon. The spiciness is warming without being overbearing.

For Christmas reading, every December I bring out this beautiful tome of Charles Dickens Christmas stories. This year, I've been working through "The Chimes". I have just found our bears the rather wonderful subtitle, "A Goblin Story (???) of Some Bells that Rang an Old Year Out and a New Year In". I want all my Christmas reading to be a Goblin story from now on.

A new tradition I've adopted in 2015 is a Christmas advent candle. Traditionally, a candle is lit every Sunday of advent until Christmas but my candle (from Kikki K) has a little notch to burn down everyday. Here's a photo from a few weeks ago - it's a lovely little ritual I look forward to everyday.

Finally, socks! I've got a few pairs of ridiculous festive socks and I must say that the best place to buy them is Topman. Think lots of Fair Isle patterns and because they're for men, they're made extra long which I love.

Please share your Christmas traditions with me! I've already got some ideas bubbling for next year so I'd love some inspiration. Have a most merry and joyful Christmas.
