My neutral lipstick wardrobe

Most of the time, I'm wearing what I'd call a neutral lip colour - not a "nude" per se, but a subtle variation of the natural colour of my lips, making them prettier and rosier. While I'm satisfied with my couple of red lipstick variations (a glossy, orange formulation and a matte, pillar box red shade), I get immense joy in searching for and expanding my collection of pinky-nude lip products.

They may all be indiscernible to some, but to me, they are each uniquely beautiful and suited to a particular mood or occasion. I'd like to share with you some of my favourites I use on an everyday basis, that are effortless yet can't help but make you look more polished.

Lipstick Queen's Tinted Treatment in Medieval
Medieval will make you feel like as though you've been eating berries (the lipstick's name is an homage to how medieval women stained their lips with wild fruit). It's a very sheer formulation that can be built up to a deeper red if desired. I like to apply it lightly, leaving my lips a little rosier and making me feel like I'm out of a romantic, medieval fairytale.

Bobbi Brown's Luxe Lip Colour in Pink Cloud
This is the brightest of my neutral choices - a matte pink perfect for days you want to wear colour but nothing too bold. I love the combination of pale pink lipstick with glossy liquid liner on the eyes - it's a very fun and girly look. Pink Cloud is the longest lasting lipstick of the bunch, so it's a good choice for a dinner or days where you're out from dawn to dusk.

Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine in Boy
I may well have found my ideal lipstick in Boy. It's very subtle and refined - a pinky-beige hue with a light gloss. It's the epitome of 'no makeup makeup' elegance - others may not notice that you're sporting lip colour, but it definitely makes the wearer look more put together. It's a colour I'll never not have in my makeup drawer.

What's your daily lip product of choice? Do you have a neutral lipstick favourite?
