My current favourite moisturiser duo

As I've progressed from my teens into my twenties, I've noticed a marked change in my skin - before I could go without moisturiser, but nowadays my skin is tight and dull without a slick of cream. While it was initially alarming to realise this, it's actually been a good opportunity for me to try out new products and judge them on their merits, whereas I previously didn't have to think twice about how well what I was putting on my face was working. Recently, I've been getting through loads of different moisturisers but I've settled on these two beauties as my preferred products of the moment.

It's a bit of a cliché that boyfriends are notorious for "borrowing" their girlfriend's skincare, slathering on her most expensive serums and creams with abandon. I have to admit to a bit of a role reversal here where I borrow my boyfriend's products, as La Roche-Posay's Toleriane Ultra was actually his contribution to the bathroom cabinet. It's a brilliant, simple, scent-free moisturiser; not too greasy yet still nourishing. This is perfect under makeup in the morning and it also works wonders in the evening (I personally like to pair it with a face oil for an extra boost). It's the moisturiser I unthinkingly reach for if I'm in a rush or when I'm too tired for anything too complicated.

When I'm in the mood for something a bit more nourishing (and gorgeous), I can't go past Darphin Hydraskin Rich. This is my preferred moisturiser at night as I find it a tad too heavy for daytime wear, but it may work for you should you have drier skin. It smells like a dream and is like applying silk to the skin. I'm pretty mean with this one as it is quite a luxurious product, but it does wonders for both m skin and my mood whenever I indulge.

I'm dabbling with some other moisturisers at the moment, but these two really are my pick of the bunch. Oh and since reading about it in Sali Hughes's "Pretty Iconic", Dr. Hauschka's Rose Day Cream has been everywhere I look - I suspect it's a cosmic sign that I should try it and that I'll enjoy it. But please recommend any of your favourite products below!
