What I bought in the Priceline skincare sale

One of my most anticipated sales is the 40% off skincare sale at Priceline, Australia's foremost drugstore. As it only happens twice a year, I stock up on a lot while I'm there - and to be honest, I could have done worse but I was fairly restrained! I had been adding to my list of what to buy for a few months and thankfully, I got everything I had wanted before it sold out - we did get there as soon as the shop opened at 9am though, so I'm not too surprised. I thought I'd round up what I got in order to show the bits I always repurchase as well as some new finds (and potential gems).

Let's start with my tried-and-true favourites: La Roche-Posay's Anthelios XL Fluid is my go-to sunscreen and has been for a few years now so I always stock up when I can. I've tried quite a few other SPFs as varying price points, but invariably always return to this. It's light, doesn't leave a white cast, doesn't sting my eyes (this happens with almost every other sunscreen I've tested) and is so far unbeatable for me. I'd say that I go through a bottle every 1.5 months so I'm always keen to have a few backups. La Roche-Posay also make fantastic, fuss-free moisturisers - I picked up another tube of their Toleriane Ultra (I've already sung its praises here), as well as Toleriane Riche, another perennial favourite. They're both scent-free and absorb in seconds, while being very moisturising but not cloying.

Indeed Laboratories's Hydraluron Moisture Jelly is another fantastic drugstore moisturiser that pairs beautifully with its sister product, Hydraluron Serum. I've been using both on a daily basis and my skin looks noticeably less dehydrated. And finally, another repurchase was Trilogy's Rosehip Oil Antioxidant Plus+ - you can find my full review of it here, but in short, it is a wonderfully pure facial oil and one that I always stock up in the sale. I use it most often when my skin is very dry and in need of much soothing.

I always love to try out some new products because at 40% off, it's not so bad if you happen to buy a dud. Some of these products I imagine will be on the blog again soon with more comprehensive reviews, but here's a brief overview of the new products that I picked up:

I've been very impressed so far with Sanctuary Spa's Therapist's Secret Facial Oil - it's very moisturising and boasts high quality ingredients at a fairly accessible price. Their 2 Day Moisture Shower Oil is the nicest version of those speedy in-shower moisturisers that I've tried - it does the job well and its beautiful scent and silky texture give it a luxurious feel. I suspect I actually tried Avène's Instant Soothing Moisture Mask a few years ago so, strictly speaking, it's not a completely new product to me, but I'm glad to have it back in my life. It's a moisturising mask that you pop on and don't have to wash off again, which makes the whole process miles easier and although it's very rich, it hasn't caused me to break out - I'm already a big fan. Finally, Trilogy is a brand I've been keen to try more from, so I purchased their Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm - it's quite a hard cleanser and requires quite a bit of water to become emollient, but it smells gorgeous and cleanses well.

There you have it - a look at the (fairly numerous) bits and pieces I bought at the Priceline skincare sale! If you went to the sale, I'd love to know what you purchased and if you didn't, please tell me about your drugstore favourites - I'm already writing my list of what I'm going to buy in the next sale.
