Some recent favourites

I felt as though after my recent blogging hiatus, it made the most sense to jump back into things with a recent favourites roundup. Every so often over the past few months I've thought to myself, "I must mention this on the blog!" - so here they are ...

I've long struggled to find the topcoat - you know, the one that would alleviate the bother of having to repaint my nails every second day, which usually tends to be the case. I've tried quite a few that didn't live up to my expectations, but Sally Hansen's Mega Shine has outshone them all. I'm writing this with perfect nails, although I painted them five days ago - absolutely unheard of for me. I'm getting to the point where I want to change my polish more out of boredom with the colour, instead of being forced to by chips.

The beauty world seems to be having a real love affair with The Ordinary at the moment and I'm certainly no exception. I've been trying out a few of their products and I've been impressed by their efficacy and, of course, their remarkable price point. My favourite from the line so far has to be their Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, most likely because the results are instantaneously visible - my dehydrated skin is immediately plumper and less tight. It's the perfect pre-makeup serum, but also fantastic layered under moisturiser or oil before bed. I've pretty much got the entire range that is currently available in Australia so I'll definitely update you should any other products also become favourites.

If you're a fan of Philip Kingsley's Elasticizer, I suggest you check out 3 More Inches's Pre-Wash Treatment. What I love about these pre-shampoo products is that you simply pop it in dry hair for as long as you like (I often braid my braid with it in if I'm washing my hair the next morning), thereby completely bypassing the awful 'standing around in the cold' element of most deep conditioners. Despite actually shampooing the product out, my hair always feels much silkier and softer, and with so little fuss, too.

As ever, I'd love to hear about your favourites of late if you care to share!
